Bless the Broken Road

Published by naomicorpuz under Music

CarrieI hope some of you, especially my friends who are hopelessly romantic and keep bugging me on what-to-do and what-not-to-do with their errrrrrrs *bleep*holes :P saw the best episode of AI’s season 4.  Rather than talk about the Revenge of the Sith which I saw 6 hours ago (in which my highly positive opinion does not belong to the view of the majority which is "OKAY… LANG" or "ANG PANGIT!" or "SIYA ANG PINAKA PANGIT NA EPISODE!!!"), I’d rather share what I had experienced 9 hours before that - which is the best show I’ve watched on our not-too-big but gave-a-blast TV screen, that is American Idol 2005’s season finale.  It was a replay but I never realized how much I’ve missed not seeing it live, until I saw it.  Oh well, it’s still the same - live or replay - but the intensity, excitement and suspense is less on the latter.

It’s 2:30am and I keep myself alive and sanguine by listening perpetually to my my most recent limewire downloads, that are Carrie’s songs such as her duet with Rascall Flatts in God Bless The Broken Road and Bo Bice in Up Where We Belong.  CarrieshowstoppersThey sang the songs with so much soul and passion, I kept jumping up and down on my seat and applauding - Clap clap clap!!!! As if I was actually in L.A.’s Kodak Theatre… hehe :P

Anyway, to all those on a broken road right now.. do not falter :).  Just listen…

Bless The Broken Road

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Who knows, God may just be leading you straight to your unexpected :) … sigh.

For a copy of the music, just send me your email, and I will gladly send you the music file.  Carpe diem my friends! =)

Post Script: Langit sa Unisan

I have so much to thank for… 1545406_img

I  had the company of three amazing personalities last weekend.  I had a
relaxing vacation weeeeeee.  I had the most scrumptious meals by Lola Enyang
Etorma (and I still dream of those mouth-watering pancit, fresh fish
and the newly discovered term "kasag" - na alimasag lang pala).  I’ve
eaten the most sunny-side-ups at breakfast meals to eat along with the
reddish sumptuous tidbit lucban longganisa and yummylicious pandesal.
Pinaltok, I miss you. Wheheheheheheheheeeeeeeee.
Nyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy :) Slurrrrrrrrrpppp yum yum :p

Thank you Etorma and De Jesus Familes :) and ofcourse, thanks Jem
and Jen :)… Thank you God,  who has always been my strength and
provider, even at times when I am in doubt and too hard to love :)

Langit sa Unisan

Published by naomicorpuz under Travel

Last friday, May 13 we arrived Unisan, one of the oldest towns and one of the farthest from Manila to Quezon.  It was a remote community, devoid of the modern wordly mundane things of everyday life in the city… yet it was beautiful.  1525266_img1525273_imgOne of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in the sky — Clouds cavort in the heavens with streaks of pastel colors painted with it… it was in Unisan.  Only in Unisan.

We saw the majestic view of the heavens in the late afternoon.. as we strolled around town, near the coast.  God created it perfectly… and it even became more perfect when earlier that day, unusually is to visit the grave of the grandafather of Celia, our host at the nearby cemetery.  It was only 2 minutes away from their ancestral house.  I was with two other friends with similar-sounding names (Jen & Jem) but with opposite personalities.  Jenny the incredible laughing huggable teddy bear and 1535344_imgJemimah - the critically acclaimed film director and photographer who did nothing but reflect silently of "not being near" or "being far" from her loved one.  Celia on the other hand has been convinced in Unisan to go out finally on a date when we come back to Manila.

1525263_imgIt was in this cemetery when I learned I passed UP College of Law through Jenny.  "Naomi!!! Congrats!!! You passed!," as she read her text msg from a friend informing her that I passed.  I was "finally in".  The minute I heard it, my smile was reaching my ears… hugging Jemimah.. then Jenny.. and Celia was clapping… I was in cloud nine.

Thank you God :) Despite all the twists, hurdles in life and failures I have made along with it… 1535332_imgYou still bless me with so much, too much.

Life is good, too good.. from below the earth to the skies, to thy heavens :)
