Justin in Manila
New York, and has been coming back and forth searching for his roots since last year. IJustin
my cousin who is 1/4 filipino, 1/4 sicilian , and the other half is a mix of
1/2 european/american. Our grandparents are siblings, if ever you are wondering
how I came to have a cousin of mixed breed. Justin Taylan (with roots all the
way from Dingras, Ilocos Norte) lives in Hyde
Park,
toured him for the first time (since it was the only time I am available) on a
Friday, October 7, a week before my finals… and it turned out to be one of the
best moments of my life this year. I feel like writing about it.
Highly
recommended:
1.National Museum–
I always enjoy coming here for there is always something new everytime I visit.
The Corpse Jars which I only see in magazines when I was a kid will always be
my favorite. The latest in the gallery are the remains of the ship. The dinnerware, silverware,
guns and ammunitions in that ship are all displayed in the 1st and 2nd
gallery - A
walk-in Diorama depicting the wreck site of the Spanish-ship San Diego its
artifacts and how it appeared when discovered by archaeologists at a depth of
54 meters underwater. This ship I believe was built in Cebu. It had only 1 survivor when it sank.
2. Inadvertently passed by JonesBridge Chinatown. We had dinner at Lai Palace, at Ongpin Street. They
which is the wrong way (so wrong) to Intramuros. But, every accident turns to
be a blessing – we ended up hoppin in
had the best salted fish rice and butter chicken (recommended by celdrantours I
spotted in blogspot) and d crab is yummy (the picture speaks for itself).
