Gaining Weight this Holiday Season… thank you nonetheless :)

    For
the past "ber-months" I have been coming back-and-forth Manila to
Ilocos.  I had a great time in my short stay in Ilocos for my brief
internship at PAO and ofcourse, most of the the time, as it is my fave
activity, I ate with family and friends.  And yes, I gained weight…
for a few pounds.  I am now a bit worried if my gown for my friend’s
wedding (which is 2 weeks from now) would fit my body still. (For recent foodtrip pictures at Dawang’s click here, and for Isdaan click here)

with Jomai getting drunk with Dawang’s Sukang Iloco

    Nonetheless,
gaining weight is no problem at all… for despite the pounds gained, I
earned a lot of unforgettable moments I will cherish and for this,
there are so much I need to be thankful for…

for gift of love, family, and friendship.

Peechurs!!! with my fans (ahem )

    Thank
you for my highschool friends who made my stay in Ilocos worthwhile.  I
know this will repeat as it does every time I am home.  Thank you for
lending me money Jovi as we shopped and dine as I always forget to
bring money with me.

Ilocos Celebrates Christmas

Annually, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte celebrates
Christmas with a Lantern parade and a program at the Provincial
Capitol. This year they added a food fair (where each town and city
will have a booth selling their delicacies) and a photo contest
(anything about Ilocos Norte).

I salute the lantern makers who painstakingly created the lanterns out of indigenous materials.

I also congratulate Tricia Domingo whose photo (woman holding an empanada) made it to the top 100 out of 250 entries.

We had fun booth - hopping and food - tripping in the fair.  I was so full I didn’t eat dinner anymore.

Afterwards
we had coffee, our fave “after eating activity” at La Preciosa
Restaurant. With me are highschool friends Mia, Tricia, Panchet and
Charisse.

What I Really Want for Christmas - SEQUEL

Published by naomicorpuz under Books, X'mas, wala LANG

This is a sequel to my What I Really Want for Christmas blog I posted two months ago.  To those who want to view my prequel please click here (naks! parang teleserye ano? ); if it doesn’t work, here is the exact url link:

http://naomicorpuz.blogs.friendster.com/my_blog/2007/09/what_i_really_w.html

- that is if you plan to grant any of my wishes and if you are wondering "why" I posted my wishes.

Lately, I have come across interesting print ads and on-display items
while window-shopping that gave me an idea on what to add to my
wishlist:

Books:

1. Title: 401 Killer Marketing Tactics: To Increase Sales,
Maximize Profits and Stomp Your Competition

Author: Tom Feltenstein
Bookstore: a generic bookstore i.e.  National, Powerbooks, Fullybooked

- Being a "businessminded person"
I like what Arnell Ignacio said about this book.  A short article by Bayani San Diego about Arnell’s book has a link here.

2. Title: Manila’s Best Kept Restaurant Secrets
Author: Ines Cabarrus & Elian Habayeb
Bookstore: Powerbooks

-
Darn, no picture available for this book.  The Inquirer wrote a short
article about it, (which sadly can’t be found in their website , darn).  I have the clipping though (but I don’t have scanner with me ,
darn again).  Anyway, it is a 260-page hardbound book where the authors
wrote (and worked for over a year to come up with this) about their
gastronomic journey through Manila’s best restaurants.  I love to
eat!!! …  I hope I can receive one, if not this x’mas… for my birthday I hope.

3. Title: Philippine Legal Research
Author: Milagros Santos-Ong
Bookstore: Centralbooks has bookstores in SM Megamall, Glorietta,
and at the corner of QC Ave. and Roosevelt Ave. in QC.

Tel. no. 3723550 loc 14 or 6381088
Email: centralbks@yahoo.com or central@central.com.ph
www.central.com.ph

(The author,
Milagros Santos-Ong)

- An overview of the contents of this book can be found here.  This is on top of my wishlist.  I hope that this can be granted to me…  I find it informative and helpful for students and  researchers.

Bags:
1. Lesportsac - I like 3 bag designs of Lesportsac, Letter B being my fave among them.

a. For Letter A - is the typical knapsack for school

b. For Letter B - This is a
tote bag that can be a cute luggage bag with rollers; if you unzip the
pointed "UNZIP" zipper, an adjustable handle comes out.  Good as school
bag (for heavy books), an all-nighter or a handcarry-on bag.

c. For Letter C -
shoulder
bags :) with their very convenient "many compartments".  My mom gave me
a green army theme - which I don’t like much; hoping for pastel and
feminine colors.

d. Bag Organizers -
very very helpful :); I already have one which is like a mini version
and size of the bag I am using.  I prefer a folded bag organizer so
that it could fit in my other bags especially the small ones.

NOTE: Stick on pads and the Wicked CD were already granted.
