About Me
Hi! I am Naomi Corpuz. I am a lawstudent, freelance writer, blogger, entrepreneur and too many other hats to mention.
I have been maintaining this blog since 2005. Although friendster is very limited in its features, I have no plans of transferring to another blog host and deleting this since:
1. I am not a celebrity. - this is the main reason why I don’t shift my friendster primary blog to another host. With friendster, I am connected to a social networking site, and I have audience who personally know me (and most likely the people who would give a damn to read blogs of the non-celebrity).
2. Corollarily, I am not a full-time blogger - who updates and posts blogs everyday, have all the time in the world to jazz up her site… that would spark and create noise and have 2 million readers like Brian Gorell.
When I say, “no plans of transferring” - this doesn’t mean that I don’t have plans maintaining another blog. I do. Infact, I am currently in the works of constructing a replica of this personal blog site in blogspot which has more features, much easier to navigate and blogger-friendly. However I will never ever delete this blog which has been instrumental in informing, educating, & helping people.
Let me share that a blog post I made for someone, MOTHER OF A PRIEST NEEDS HELP a few months ago has been fruitful.
It was my first time to create such a blog post, seeking financial assistance. I was not confident that people will respond to the call to help a family pay their hospital bills, but I accepted the request of the family to write it because I simply couldn’t say “no.” I was partly pessimistic that it would give positive results especially if monetary help that we’re seeking is what everyone else is found wanting these days.
But, I was proven wrong when Odette Barut, the sister of the priest in the blog informed me that they started receiving donations from people they don’t even know. And I don’t even know them either. Although the donations received at the latest is far from the P400, 000 (that they owe Makati Medical Center) - some people, like an anonymous person donating P6,000 from Urdaneta exceeded my expectations.
I realized that there are people who read blogs and can be active readers as well, if not the usual passive. Hence, I am encouraged to continue blogging not only for myself (who makes use of the habit to destress, rant, rave, as an outlet for my creativity and writing skills & for posterity) but also for others in whatever good purpose it may serve them.
