Yellow Cab’s latest “Dear Darla”

Published by naomicorpuz under Food and Drink

Though I am not a pizza lover, I grabbed a bite yesterday of Yellow Cab’s latest pizza “Dear Darla” seeing from 2 newspaper advertisements that it has fresh veggies in it.  And I also won’t forget my first unforgettable experience eating thin pizza with arugula and alfalfa sprouts with a french-filipino family in Pampanga, which was my favorite among the french food they served.

It is good to know that Yellow cab has added this to its menu, exclusively in the Philippines.  Only now that I learned that it has a 24 hour branch at the new UP-Ayala land Technology Hub and with only a P250 minimum for delivery.

Their “Dear Darla” comes with a flyer instruction how to eat this pizza; though it is quite easy, just spread the arugula, then the alfalfa sprouts and drizzle with chili oil.  Roll the pizza (pre-sliced in long pieces) with the veggies after that.  I also suggest that you eat it while it is hot that makes a big difference when it is not, like any other pizza that is better-tasting when still steaming hot from the oven.

My only criticism, Yellow Cab must add more veggies for one order.  I find the veggies “bitin” (insufficent) given for a 10″ pizza, the smallest that is P275,  (12″ is P400 plus, 14″ is P500 plus), considering that more sprouts give a much better taste compared with a very scarce supply in one bite.   One rule in business, “Wag titipirin ang customer”.

Yellow Cab among many, has branches in QC:
Katipunan, Tandang Sora, Technology Hub Commonwealth
Call 441-2222 for Deliveries (P250 minimum).

Taping: Feb 2, 2009
Airing: Feb 4 or 5, 2009 (Wednesday or Thursday)

Thank you very much JASON and SOL and ATE GRATCH

for INVITING ME in Boy and Kris.

It was an unforgettable experience and I had fun :), I hope this will open doors for me on TV (Joke!).  haha.  But seriously I am indebted to BOY and KRIS, their staff and crew because “Naomi’s Kitchen” atleast would get more known to people across the Philippines.

FYI: At the very start of the show, Kris will be handing Boy a small red heart from my heart canister from Naomi’s Kitchen.
Kris: Boy, my heart for you
Boy says: Ang saraaaap!
Kris: Ang sarap noh? Is that white chocolate colored in red?

……….. then show continues :)
Here are some of the clips:

Kris Aquino, OFF-AIR, before the start of the show: (she was handing some of my heart canisters with chocolates and mallows to her stylist) O, iuuwi ko ito kasi favorite ni Baby James ang marshmallows.

On the lap of the guest, note the BOX - this is my 3 edible roses in a box for only P349. If for 5 pieces, P299 only per piece.

I handed Tito BOY his personalized lollipops after the show.  With me is my employee Ellen.  Tito Boy says sincerely, “I hope you do well.”  I hope so tooo!!! Thank you Tito Boy for your kindness.

Some of my lollipops on display! For P15 & P20 a piece (by a dozen) :)

Plugging Photos Du Monde & the French Raclette lunch in Pampanga

Published by naomicorpuz under Food and Drink

Photos Du Monde is the official photographer of my sister’s wedding in Paris.  Tita Chato who is a Filipina and married to french photographer Stephane own it and are both based in Paris with their French-Filipino goodlooking teenage son Nicola.  My family also stayed at their place in Paris during our last days in Europe.

Tita Chato visits the Philippines as often as she can, and she invited us to have lunch at her mansion in Pampanga.  The entire house is designed by Manny Castro, the same person who designed the sala of our Quezon City residence.

The mansion is located in Lakeshore, with the view of Mt. Arayat.  Her house also has murals of Arc De Triomphe and Invalides.

Nina and Vince arrived late when they fetched me for lunch.  We were all very hungry when we arrived for lunch.  As starter, is the favorite of Stephane  Similar to a thin crust pizza, only that they’re sliced in long rectangular shapes and wrap the veggies with it.  It is my favorite.  Delicious!

And the main course, is the Raclette. What is Raclette?

This cheese is traditionally melted (a half wheel is placed in a fireplace, then the melted top surface is continuously scraped off) and layered atop boiled potatoes, pickles, fresh vegetables and sliced meats.  Source: http://www.igourmet.com/shoppe/prodview.aspx?prod=175&productid=175&channelid=BIZRA

The result after cooking…

And for dessert, is cheesecake, sprinkled with nuts and lemon sauce.

Thank you Tita Chato and family!  Thank you for your hospitality and for giving us a taste of french gastronomic experience that we direly miss :)

With us in the picture are Tita Chato with her mom and sisters, ABSCBN producer Karen with husband and kids, Vince, Chap and me.

Tita Chato Vivas opened a branch in Pampanga of Photos Du Monde:
